Flower of Life

My body of work, the Flower of Life, is a direct response to my environment. I strive for peace and serenity in my daily life, and my paintings and etchings are a reflection of that mentality. My process began with an idea that stemmed from being submersed in nature. When I would feel stressed out from my daily grind, I found that walking through the woods and alongside the beach were the best relaxer to cope with my hectic city lifestyle. Feeling the energy of the earth and plants is fantastically tranquil, and I have dived into learning as much as I can about Sacred Geometry, which is a mathematical and visual method to understand the phenomenon of life that occur around us.

Sacred Geometry is the belief that geometry, mathematical ratios, harmonics and proportion are found in nature, music, light, and cosmology. The Flower of Life is a common symbol of many spiritual and religious teachings around the world. It is a geometrical shape that is made up of multiple overlapping circles of the same size. When I draw the Flower of Life, I am filled with a feeling of serenity, and it is my hope to share that feeling by teaching and through the paintings I have created. My artwork compels the viewer to contemplate the modern world and the damage we have done to our home planet, and to think about a solution for the future, all while instilling a sense of harmonious bliss.
